A.Very good location right on the beach, close to many good eating places and malaga is less than 15minutes by bus.
The hotel is maybe better suited to people in the 20/30/40 years age group as it can be a bit noisy at night due to the very good and busy bar attathed to the hotel.the bar remains open until two in the morning.i also tbink the hotel is a bit over priced for what you get.
Lovely location, nice local restaurants, rooftop apartment was absolutely amazing. Will go back next year ;)
It was my second time in Malaga. This time we decided to take east part of the city. We loved the location of the hotel. Sea front location with the windows overlooking the busy promenade and the beach. The rooms are very sunny and basic but everything you need is there. Rooms as well as bathroom are clean with all necessary toiletries ie gel, shampoo, shewing machine, shower cap, tooth brush hair dryer ect and towels changed daily. Very friendly staff that make your stay even better. Although they speak little english, it was enough to communicate. The best part is the jacuzzi & sauna on the roof with stunning view. Not sure what is like in the mid of season however we stayed in Oct and apparently hotel was fully booked but we felt we are there on our own and everything was available and fully working. Second good thing was the bar - loved the drinks and the food - spot on - love Spain. There are plenty of local and Spanish, unlike in main touristic places but it is all about getting a taste of their culture. He had a car so it was easy to get to the city center but apparently there are buses for I think 1 euro per person per trip. The hotel breakfast is ordered from the menu. The choice is limited to just few positions however there are some different options including standard sandwich, egg and bacon, sweet toast or fruits. We loved everything about this place and will definitively recommend them in the future.
From our party experience we had no issues. We loved everything about this place and will recommend them in the future.
This is the second time we have stayed at the Hotel La Chancla. The hotel remains great value and I am sure we will be back!
I seemed to be obsessed with poor showers but the one in our bathroom was clearly broken and there was a strong smell of sealant which had been used to repair a leak! Otherwise, no problem.
Very friendly helpful people. Very clean rooms. Not a luxury hote/apartmentsl but have everything you need along with a wonderful staff. Right on the beach with good food and drinks. Great location with shopping & sight seeing near by. Price very resonable. Booked room for one night & ended up staying five.
Great location on the beach. Main receptionist helpful and friendly.
Noisy bar downstairs. Staff at bar, where breakfast is served, were rude and inefficient.
Right on the beach, lovely locals, not many tourists (unlike the other beaches in the area), laid back, quiet, delicious fresh squeezed orange juice for breakfast, wi-fi in the room/terrace/restaurant that works, 2 blocks from bus stop, friendly staff, clean room, hot tub on roof terrace to watch shooting stars at night, little hotel restaurant great for breakfast and drinks in the evening (mmm, mojitos!), towels replaced each day, small fridge in room, sound of the ocean through the window at night. It was just fabulous! Seriously, for the price and location right on the beach, you just couldn't ask for more. What I liked most about the area is that there wer no high rises and no nasty loud gimmicky pubs. I'll go to Mallorca if I want that. Hotel La Chancla and it's village made the stay really nice and authentic. Can't wait to visit again!
I really can't think of anything!
Very nice location at the strand, a lively place with many cafes and restaurants, breakfest practically on the beach! A great playground for kids nearby on the beach with locals. All this area seemed to us to be rather for local people than tourists, which we found great.
The hotel has a whirpool on the roof (great seaview), it did not work though (apart from using it as a pool with warm water), sauna neither. The staff was busy in the restaurant and not very sympathic, one had always the feeling as if we were disturbing them from doing something more important. Comparing to other hotels we stayed in, this was the most unfriendly staff we met in whole Andalusia. No parking available (pedestrian zone), but one can park in the residential quarter nearby.
Perfect opening into the sea and city at walkable distance
This small hotel was a surprise for me. It is really nice, clean and well- located. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay here. I highly recommend it and I would definitely come back.
Blankets needed to be washed---should use something other than carpet in rooms
Good location, it's right at the beach, a bus stop at 5 minutes walk, plenty of bars and restaurants.
We had our room just above the bar and terrace, in the evening it was very noisy so you have to close the windows, otherwise you really cannot sleep/
The best thing was the closeness to the sea.
Main problems: WiFi is "available" but in all practical sense can only be used in the resturant section, the signal is far to week to be used in the rooms. Also, the place is a seafront resturant with a few hotle roomes, not a hotel with a resturant - they staff are 100% brilliant but are too overworked running the seafront resurant which is always full, a guest in the hotel has to go and find staff - not the staffs fault, just not enough of them. The food menu was limited to sandwiches and they sliced bread was massive, not for everybody. They try to put too many tables in the place, once sat down, you cant move. The key cards in the room were very tricky to use and open the doors, failing 25% of the time, and I stay in hotels for a living, not a onc a year traveller.
it was right on the beach the staff was super friendly, and there was a great jacuzzi on the roof of the hotel overlooking the mediterranean sea. a 5 minute bus ride to downtown Malaga. great room 14 overlookin the ocean!! wonderful if i'm in malaga again i will definitely stay there again. only longer next time!!
it was difficult to find. the street address that was given to us was on the beach/restaurant side to the hotel so we had to drag our suitcases through the restaurant to get to the office. The office is only accessible from the other street side door with a hotel room key. a little more signage would be most helpful!
La Chancla is a small, rustic hotel lovely situated in the outer districs of Malagá just on the beach of the Mediterranean. Surrounded by café´s and restaurants, framed beutyfully by the sea and mountain vistas, we had a great time here. Great service, great bar area that seemed to be the most popular hangout about, always full with life. Many were the cold beers that was thrown back there, the ice buckets with bottles on your table is truly great. If you (like us) don´t like massive hotels lined up next to one another cut in the same mold where you spend more time with your countrymen than locals; La Chancla is a great choise for you.
Had my room had a balcony and a refridgerator, I would have moved there! Seriously, if there was one negative I had to mention, it would be the plastic between the sheets and madrass in the beds. I do understand why they are there, but it doesn´t let the beds "breathe".
